Juergen Braehmer boasts one of the most illustrious careers of any light heavyweight boxer competing today.

The WBA light heavyweight champion has secured 48 victories with 35 knockouts in 50 tries, losing twice via decision. Boasting huge power and a steely resolve, Braehmer has taken part in some of the best fights of the past decade, putting on showcase after showcase in earning and defending his strap.

He puts his title on the line Saturday, Oct. 1, against the always exciting Nathan Cleverly in a bout that may determine the next opponent for superstar boxer Andre Ward moving forward. To prepare for this event, let's take a look back at Braehmer's top five performances.

1. Nov. 22, 2008: Juergen Braehmer vs. Hugo Garay (video footage unavailable)

Despite coming up short in his first bid for a world title shot, Braehmer engaged in a back-and-forth, rock-em, sock-em fight that elevated his profile to new heights. This fight remains Braehmer's only blemish in the past eight years, and even in defeat, Braehmer proved his worth as one of the world's very best fighters.

2. December 14, 2013: Juergen Braehmer vs. Marcus Oliveira

Five years after unsuccessfully challenging for the WBA title against Garay, Braehmer won the vacant belt with an all-around fantastic performance against America's Marcus Oliveira.

3. April 5, 2014: Juergen Braehmer vs. Enzo Maccarinelli

Making his first title defense, Braehmer earned the victory after Maccarinelli's corner had to stop the fight after five rounds due to swelling. In this fight, Braehmer proved he was at the top to stay.

4. December 6, 2014: Juergen Braehmer vs. Pawel Glazewski

In his most emphatic performance to date, Braehmer blew out his opponent with a shot to the liver at only 55 seconds of the first round. The devastating shot put all light heavyweights on notice.

5. March 21, 2015: Juergen Braehmer vs. Robin Krasniqi

Braehmer beat fellow countryman Robin Krasniqi with a flawless performance that ended with Krasniqi's corner stopping the fight after the ninth round. The win secured Braehmer's fourth world title defense.

How will Braehmer fare against Cleverly? Tune in Saturday to find out.
