UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington got his wish Wednesday, as he presented a title to President Donald Trump in Washington D.C.
UFC President Dana White arranged the meeting, where Covington presented his title and another UFC championship belt that was given directly to President Trump.
Per sources close to the situation, Covington got 30 minutes with President Trump, meeting the commander in chief right after Senator Lindsey Graham. The two shared stories about the fight business and even chatted about Trump's own amateur wrestling background.
American Top Team owner Dan Lambert and UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes also attended the meeting.
Prior to winning the interim welterweight title back in June, Covington said one of his goals was to present the championship belt to President Trump after he was victorious.
Following his victory over Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225, Covington doubled down on his desire to meet with President Trump and present him with the UFC title.
“I did everything I said I was going to do,” Covington said after UFC 225. “I told everybody I was going to make the welterweight division great again, and now I’m going to celebrate how a real American should celebrate winning a world a title, and that’s going to the White House to see Mr. Donald Trump and put this on his desk, unlike the Filth-a-delphia Eagles disrespecting our flag and kneeling for the national anthem.”
White then said he would arrange the meeting due to his personal relationship with President Trump. Now, he made it happen.

President Trump had previously asked White about bringing UFC champions to the White House much like other teams from the United States who celebrate a championship with the President.
Now, Covington becomes the first UFC fighter to meet a sitting U.S. President following the meeting Wednesday.
