A stacked UFC 235 fight card just got a little more violent.

Thursday, sources close to the situation told FloCombat dangerous bantamweight finishers Thomas Almeida and Marlon “Chito” Vera are on a collision course for the March 2 card in Las Vegas.

Thus far, Brazil’s Almeida has been up-and-down in his eight-fight UFC career. Once touted as one of the 135-pound division’s next stars, Almeida has stumbled against the cream of the crop. The 27-year-old knockout artist has gone 1-3 over the span of his last four bouts. In his last outing, Almeida was TKO’d by Massachusetts' Rob Font.

His opponent, the fan-favorite Ecuadorian Vera, will be seeking his third straight win against Almeida. Most recently, the 26-year-old Team Oyama product defeated Argentina’s Guido Cannetti at UFC Buenos Aires in November.
