Krzysztof Jotko Ready To Brush Off Losses: 'I Live In The Future'
The Top Turtle MMA Podcast on FloCombat chats with UFC middleweight Krzysztof Jotko ahead of UFC Fight Night 149 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Some fighters in the position of Krzysztof Jotko would feel plenty of pressure. After rattling off a five-fight winning streak that had him ranked as high as No. 9 in the UFC middleweight division, he’s now lost straight. Despite this run of bad luck, Jotko is completely relaxed going into his fight this weekend at UFC Fight Night 149 in St. Petersburg, Russia
“A long time ago I forgot about my losses,” Jotko recently told the Top Turtle MMA Podcast on FloCombat.
That’s not to say he can’t remember that hard times or what they felt like.
“I had a very bad stand, a very bad two years,” Jotko said. “I lost three fights, I had a broken hand, I had torn ligaments in my right knee.”
However, he doesn’t let any of that weigh on him. Instead, he prefers to look at his upcoming fight with a clean slate.
“But all this was the past. Now it’s a different time,” Jotko said. “I live in the future.”
And that future is one that involves a showdown with UFC newcomer Alen Amendovski April 20 in Russia. Despite Amendovski's lack of experience on the big stage, Jotko is preparing for the fight just like any of the ranked opponents he’s fought recently.
“I feel very good. I had a great camp, great sparring partners. My coaches took care of me,” Jotko said. “I feel very excited to step into the Octagon again.”
