A busy weekend of combat sports continued on FloCombat Saturday night with some world-class Muay Thai at Lion Fight 45.
In the night's main event, Lion Fight champion Chip Moraza-Pollard put his world cruiserweight title on the line against challenger Mike Mackinnon.
The co-main event featured Lion Fight North American Super Cruiserweight Champion Steve Walker taking on veteran William Sriyapai.
While Sriyapai showed no fear and no quit, Walker dominated the fight from start to finish, earning a TKO after knocking down his opponent four times.
When it came time for the main event, Moraza-Pollard and Mackinnon took some time to feel each other out before heating up in the third round.
Both men were dug into each other's legs and exchanged heavy right hands as the back-and-forth fight entered the championship rounds.
Moraza-Pollard began finding great success to the body in Round 4 and started to wear down MacKinnon. Moraza-Pollard mixed his strikes well throughout, keeping MacKinnon off guard as he continuously chipped away.
In the final frame, MacKinnon showed some signs of life, scoring a knockdown on a spinning elbow, but it was too little, too late as Moraza-Pollard retained the title.
